Coffee-flavored chocolate mousse

I love this time of the year!

I love chocolate
I love eggs
I love being together with friends and family
I love play to hide and seek with mr and mss egg as my companions

Seriously, what's not to love?

Because I wanted to combine all this good stuff in one little desert I made these:

Let's go through the checklist together:

Eggs? Present.
Chocolate? Damn, yeah!
Friends and family? I guess you can share...

Coffee flavored chocolate mousse
adapted from: A taste of Imec

200 g dark chocolate, broken into pieces {7 oz}
1 cup of coffee
2 egg whites
1/2 T powdered sugar
200 ml heavy cream {1 cup}

one: heat the cup of coffee in a medium-sized saucepan.
two: add chocolate and stir over medium heat until the chocolate is completely melted. Set aside to cool down.
three: whisk the egg whites until they begin to form peaks. Gradually whisk in the powdered sugar. Continue to whisk for 3-4 minutes until stiff.
four: in another bowl, beat the cream until thickened.
five: using a spatula, gently fold spoonfuls of the beaten cream into the chocolate mixture until combined.
six: carefully (!!) fold in the egg whites until the mixture is fluffy and light.
seven: spoon the mousse into cleaned-out eggshells and chill for at least three hours. If possible: overnight.

Dankje, Maja! Ohja, in een chocolade ei zou nog zo handig zijn! En lekker! Dat is voor volgend jaar... Merci voor de inspiratie, heel leuk!
