Well, this is something that caught me completely off guard.
Thank you so much, Mowdjo's Kitchen, for nominating me for this pretty Liebster Award.
I am deeply humbled by this.

So apparently the rules for this beautiful award are:

  1. Thank the blogger who nominated you.
  2. Attach the award icon to your site.
  3. Answer questions from the previous blogger and choose new ones for your nominees.
  4. Nominate other bloggers for the award and let them know.

strawberry coconut smoothie

I just realized we are about halfway through with summer.
Bummer, right?! I know!
But hold back your tears, friend.
There's still some time to drink corona at the water, to play soccer in the park, to eat as many strawberries as your eyes can grasp and to dance until the sun comes up.

Talking about strawberries...
I'm putting a whole bunch of them in the easiest, most basic yet incredible delicious smoothie.
It's done in under five minutes and contains only good things.
Things that are not chocolate, nor french fries.
This, my dear friends; is health..

zucchini fries with tomato-mint salsa

'... so the poor guy almost started crying while he told me. I remember it lively, cause I was eating a hotdog.'

a silence fell upon the conversation.

'It was a reeaally good hotdog, dudes.'

That's the guy I'm going to marry one day.
The guy that connects deep emotional memories with a hotdog.
Soulmates, much?

I made these zucchini fries the
weekend we decided to take a little road trip.
We didn't have a lot of money.
We had even less plans.
We only had adventure on our mind.

Yellow pumps for the win!

Thai chili chicken sandwich

Did you have a great weekend?
Was it filled with booze, friends and ninja dancing?
Did you picknick in bed the next day because you were too hungover to sit at a table?
Yeah... me too.

Pear chèvre salad

This is the deal:
last sunday {better known as easter} I ate to much.
Not just a little... but waaaaay to much.
I had: alligator, mussels, melon with prosquitto, portugese tarlets, chocolate cake, fruit tart, tortilla, a cheese platter and fruit salad.
On one day.
True story.

His Family | Goat cheese pizza toppings

I'm going to meet His Family!!
{the larger one: aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, ...}

Totally no biggie.
I know.

Except...
Which cake should I bake?
Is this dress too short?
Will they like me?

Are they going to ask stupid questions?
Won't I give too many stupid answers?

Spring is happening | butternut squash falafel in red kale leaves

Spring is in town!
I know so...

I've had my first mosquito bite, the first days without a coat are happening and I don't eat anymore; I picnic.

What's happening in your kitchen? If you're anything like me: banana pudding and wine is totally dinner and vegetarian sausage rolls are a food group on their own.

3 pieces; I'm humble like that.

Lovable N. | Insanely delicious vegetarian sausage rolls

You know how there are those people that everyone loves...?

They're cute and charismatic.

They're always{!} friendly.

They speak 5 different languages fluently and say it's no biggie.

They help old ladies cross the street while buying cookies for the local scouts and saving an Ethiopian child from a terrible death.

And at the very same time they drink you under table, bake bonkers pancake-pies and dance like a mother-effing-ninja.

I love ninja's.

Messy cookbook | Authentic Belgian Sugar Waffles

This cookbook survived my childhood.
This edition is about 10 years older than I am.
That's right:
F'cking historical dough is sticking to every page.

I love these visual and touchable memories almost more than I love random pictures from the oldies.
{And oh boy, how I love those}

My last days with meat | Parsnip and apple soup with bacon

So, this is it. My final days of eating meat before the Days without meat-challenge (DWM) starts. From the 22nd of fFbruary on I won't eat meat, nor fish, for 46 days. At least; that's the challenge.

For more information click here for a previous post or here for the {dutch} website with all the information and stuff...

So right now, I'm saying goodbye to bacon; goodbye lovely chicken; goodbye delicious salmon and goodbye steak sandwiches. I'm cleaning out my fridge while saluting all of these loved ones who didn't make it to the end.

But hey, let's take a look at the brighter side; Hello falafel! Good evening vegieburger! Welcome home marinated tofu! Nice to meat you, chickpea's!

For the ones that will ask thé question: No, I don't really talk to food! Ok, .. just sometimes maybe... Once in a while... quite often, actually. So what?

While cleaning out the fridge I found these little pieces of bacon. They fit in just perfect with this parsnip velouté.
